Our thanks to CLWB RYGBI BANGOR for their visit to “THE FIELD OF DREAMS” at Hailey Park. Due to their delayed arrival the match was reduced to 30 mins. each way, ( any longer and we would have been playing by moonlight”) but the game was played in a good spirit.
After a long Summer’s rest the boys came into their first game with all guns blazing ( You see lads — regular training does have its benefits. !!) The first 10 minutes were spent with us camped in their 22 and our constant pressure finally paid off with Jordan smashing his way through their defence. 5 – 0
A penalty saw the score change to 5 – 3
The lads again went on the offensive resulting in Jack (W) effecting a trademark dash to score. 10 – 3
Just before half-time we appeared to relax and poor tackling allowed them to score a converted try Score 10 – 10
The second half was evenly fought with Nathan swapping penalties with their kicker.
TWO MINUTES from the end they had a scrum 15 metres from our line with a good individual try being scored and converted.
Hard luck lads. A draw would have been a fair result as the defence was, apart from two lapses, very good.
Onwards adn Upwards !!! KEEP ON ROCKING !!!!!
