Llandaff North u16 v Southampton Trojans 19/04/2015

By Alan John

Once again I am indebted to the lovely Rebecca Simister for match details due to my being “forced” to attend a Christening. (When will people realise that RUGBY comes FIRST) Apologies to our visitors for having to eat and drink outside due to aforementioned function!

Our opponents arrived with a fearsome reputation as, as could be seen on their jackets, they were “Hampshire under 16 Champions” but this team has no respect for reputations and, after a closely contested 20 minutes Will went over to score But the Trojans lived up to their name and, with our constant pressure they pounced on our mistake and scored a “breakaway” try. This was followed by constant attacks with their scoring a second try. Both Converted. Fortunately for us they transgressed twice with “Yellow Cards” being shown. Half time and we were down 5 – 14

BUT as I have said many times, this team DOES NOT GIVE UP! From a trademark break & dummy Dylan went over to score. We went further ahead via a try by Owen followed by our own £breakaway try” by Jack. Quick thinking by Evan saw him take a tap-penalty and dive over to score with his then adding the conversion We were now leading
by 27 – 14 but we committed the Cardinal Sin of “easing up ” and allowed them to score.

However, we had the last word when from another tap-penalty and quick passing Zak scored.

Final 32 – 19

Scorers : Will / Dylan / Owen / Jack / Evan / Zak Conv Evan

WELL DONE LADS !! Another Touring Team accounted for !! KEEP ON ROCKING !!!
