Llandaff North u16 v Horsham u16 29.03.2015

Unknown-1By Alan John

The coaches would firstly like to thank our visitors from West Sussex and hope that our hospitality was OK. Also, they thank the players and supporters for both teams for turning out in such deplorable conditions!

We began the game with the STRONG wind and rain at our backs and, after 5 minutes Josh made one of his trademark charges through their defence before passing to Jack who evaded two tackles to score. This was followed by a wave of attacks which gave the supporters a false sense of security as, whilst we were anticipating further tries the Horsham defence was IMMENSE and repulsed every attack.

Half – time and we had a slender 5 point lead.

The second half began with Horsham replying in kind by kicking the ball and forcing us onto the back-foot. in a reverse of the first half, they spent most of the time in our territory !! But we replied with our own AWESOME defence and repulsed their attacks, none more so than Jack with a try-saving tackle in the corner.

Fortunately we had the last word as, with the final move on the match ,Tom (D) charged 30 mts through their defence to score.

HIGHLIGHTS? The fact that BOTH teams produced an exciting game of Rugby despite the awful weather !! == In the absence of Callum due to injury, Dylan and Jake gave excellent performances at Full-back,== The Rampaging Charges by Adam / Tito / Sam / Joe

Llandaff North u16 10-0 Horsham u16
Scorers :- Tries Jack / Tom (D)

WELL DONE LADS !!!  A Very Good Performance ( By BOTH Teams !! )

Hi Alan, A great match report. We had a fantastic time at Llandaff North – your hospitality was superb and both teams played their hearts out – it was a very entertaining & competitive match. Very physical & we were pleased our boys fronted up and made a game of it in poor conditions, but you were deserved winners.
We very much appreciate the warm welcome you gave the Horsham players, coaches, parents & supporters.

All the best for the rest of the season.
