Barry u16 v Llandaff North u16 11/01/2014

By Alan John

On a cold and WINDY morning we lost the toss and Barry elected to play with the wind and downhill (slight).

We immediately came under pressure with their using the conditions and we repelled their attacks, but on the 10th minute they broke through to score. The supporters wondered how long we could hold out against them and the elements?

But as I have said so often, this team does NOT GIVE UP and for them, this was as good as it got!

Pack pressure won the ball and good passing along the back line saw Josh dive over. Good conversion by Dylan. A few minutes later a virtually identical try was scored and, against everything, we were up 7 – 12 at half-time.

The second half began with Barry throwing everything at us but our defence held firm. Sean was injured but, after treatment he bravely continued! Then, with 15 minutes left Evan was sent to the sin bin with Jay (B) moving to scrum-half The whole team seemed to find extra energy and despite being down to 14 men we scored another TWO tries by, what’s his name? Oh Yes, Josh!

Barry u16 v Llandaff North Score :- 7 pts to 24 pts.
Scorers : Tries Josh (4) Conv. Dylan (2)

Once again, we only had the bare 15 players! WHERE were the other 5/10 Was it too cold?

HIGHLIGHTS :- FOUR tries by JM / The overall play of the team (EVERY man gave 110%) / Rollicking charges by Sam & Adam / Their Pack was good but our PACK were AWESOME! It would be wrong to select an individual but I must mention Matthew as this was his first game but fitted in as if he had been there all season / Excellent Defence (Keep tackling like this!)

WELL PLAYED LADS !!! EVERY ONE WAS MAN OF THE MATCH! KEEP ON ROCKING !!!!
