stream_img (1)It is with great sadness and regret that we inform you of the death of Louise Lucas, the wife of our head coach, Gavin Lucas, following a road traffic accident in Swansea yesterday (31/03/2015).

Louise was a hard-working, caring and respected police sergeant for South Wales Police, servicing the Llanishen, Rhiwbina and Thornhill areas. Members of SW Police, the Welsh Assembly and all who had the pleasure of working with Louise have expressed their grief at her loss. SW Police said they had lost ‘a friend, a colleague and an officer who really cared’. Richard Jones, a special chief officer at Gwent Police, remarked that Louise was an “exceptional lady”. This sentiment is echoed throughout.

Louise was also a devoted wife and mother to Gavin and their three children, who are understandably devastated and shocked at the sudden loss of their beloved wife and mum. Louise was a remarkable woman, part of a remarkable family.

We at the club send Gavin, the children and all Louise’s friends and family our deepest condolences and warmest thoughts at this most difficult and painful of times. She will be hugely missed by all who knew her and beyond. The North family stands beside you. As a mark of respect all matches scheduled for this weekend have been postponed.

We understand that supporters and friends of the club may wish to offer their collective sympathies. We’ll update this page as soon as possible when we have any news to share on this most tragic event and on how you may be able to offer support to Gavin and his family.
