I believe the boys have been watching too many of the Welsh senior team performances; we started this game with the same level of intensity/concentration as the national team in this year’s 6 nations. A lack of commitment at the tackle and straight running by Barry led to an early converted try – Wakey- wakey.
Straight from the kick off, a darting run by Alex was prematurely stopped by a high tackle, penalty Llandaf, quickly taken by Ioan and passed to Owen for a Try converted by Sion. Back in the game and into to a breeze the boys passed accurately, Anthony caught the ball in the outside centre position and drew his opposite number, just as he got tackled, Anthony popped the ball to Alex for an easy run in, this was converted by Sion.
Caught cold again, Barry started the second half with a quick converted try, the intensity of this half was immense, and both teams we were well matched but mistakes were being made by both sides as they tried to gain the upper hand. This was no more obvious than in the dreaded scrum, Sion had the upper hand here and won a number against the head at key times. Several penalties in quick concession led to an encouraging field position this was exploited and resulted in a try for converted try for Sam.
Minutes to go Barry broke through our defence and scored again, it was all out defence by Llandaf for those last few minutes but the boys stood firm and a fantastic double tackle by Joe and Sam demonstrated the teams desire not lose this game. This was a really good game of rugby and both teams clapped each other off the field after the final whistle.
Final Score 28 -28
