Llandaff North u16 v Wesley College Dublin u16 25/10/14

Due to Half-term holidays a number of our players were missing. However, due to Llandaff suffering from similar problems and being without a game, we were able to welcome several of their players with both teams playing well together.

The difference between a regular Pack and a “mix & match” pack (i.e. their Pack were used to playing together) soon became apparent in the scrums, BUT our boys did not concede possession easily, end even won on WCD’s put-in several times.

The first 15 mins was fought out between the opposing 22 lines but our constant pressure saw them concede two tries. It was in the dying minutes of the first half when they maintained pressure on our line — Jay (B) was woefully exposed on the wing but he put in a try-saving tackle only for them to break through our defence a minute later. The score at half-time was 10 – 7 and the supporters had high hopes for the second half playing “with the wind”.

Unfortunately it did not work out as we had anticipated and they ran in 3 tries. One due to pressure and two due to our losing possession after constant pressure on their line.

HIGHLIGHTS :- Two teams gelling into one fighting force ( Well Done Coaches !!!! ) —- Josh with his usual charge for the line when I thought he was still in the middle of the field !!! — Sam bursting from
a maul and evading 3 tackle to run 40 mts to score.

Final Score – Llandaff North u16 10-26 Wesley College Dublin u16

Scorers Tries :- Josh & Sam

WELL PLAYED LADS Your “mixed” team did not deserve to lose this match
