A disappointing defeat this weekend for the North after what was a hard fought battle for all involved. Llandaff North were playing against a very strong wind in the first half and did soak up a lot of pressure but discipline cost us and kept the score board ticking over for Abercynnon. Some unlucky timing ment Pontypridd today had a cup game and dual registered Gunter at no 10 controlled the game for them and got their back line moving, another time the result may well have been a lot different.

There were a few early exchanges where neither team took over all command however with 10 minutes into the game the north started to dominate and command territory, several forward thrusts led to excellent ball for the backs which eventually led to 2 early penalties which were duly converted by Dan French. The early lead inspired the players to greater efforts that led to scrum and line-out dominance it wasn’t long before Frenchy kept the score board ticking over nicely with a try by taking a flat pass in mid field, busting through and bouncing off defenders before scoring under the posts which he then converted. Another penalty was given as Taffs Well lacked discipline and control, the half time score being a healthy 16 – 0.
