On a beautiful, but windy day, both teams endeavoured to play running Rugby. In the first half we played against the strong wind but we spent the first 5/10 minutes within their 22. Unfortunately, we were unable to make the pressure count with our losing the ball. A 75 metre kick followed by a tap penalty and, against the run of play, we were down 0-5.
From the re-start we again laid seige to their line and did not repeat the earlier silly mistake and pack pressure paid off with Dafydd diving over. Within minutes we extended the lead in a similar vein with Gaggsy scoring. Converted by Mark. BUT, we switched off and from a tap-penalty, followed by poor tackling, they scored.
Half-time arrived with our having a slender lead at 12 – 10 despite constant pressure. (But we were up against a strong wind)
Our Pack continued to dominate the scrum and to some extent, the line-out. A 50 metre run by Robbie saw him score in the corner followed by an excellent conversion. Soon after a 60 metre kick by Jordan saw Jamie following-up” to score.
With respect to the opposition, it must be said that the game became one-way traffic with the try of the match being scored by Scoble after the ball had passed through many pairs of hands!
In the last 10 minutes we witnessed a Hat-Trick of tries by Jordan each of them due to smooth passing along the back line. The final kick being an audacious Drop-Kick Conversion by the same player virtually from the touch line.
Final Score: Llandaff North 2nds 46-10 Seaview
